planting of trees essay

“We are the Village Green Preservation Society Preserving the old ways from being abused, Protecting the new ways, for me and for you, What more can we do (Davies)” —The Kink’s “Village Green Preservation Society” Planting trees is an ancient activity, and in the modern context of our digital age, a past time that would seem far removed from our awareness. Trees happen, everywhere. Yet, the best trees that we appreciate in public park plantings, that grace our yards and forests have benefited from human interactions. They have been planted and cared for. In turn, they generate numerous rewards that we take for granted, such as increased property values, a breathable atmosphere, carbon sequestration, rainfall and a steady water table, generation of topsoil, erosion control, and wildlife habitat. With the growing cognizance that we must collectively do better and take control of the environmental negativity that is our degraded ecosystems, respond to the volatility of our changing climate, and engage the questionability of our food supplies, we need to promote silviculture, the growing and cultivation of trees. Employing the melody and lines from the Kink’s “Village Green Preservation Society” culturally fits. Released in 1968 to critical praise and commercial obscurity, this song has currently found a wider audience appreciative of its tales singing the requiem for time-honored English traditions (Erlewine). In our own contemporary society a sensation nags at us that there must be more to our culture than the sight of unbridled and conspicuous consumption eroding traditions that we collectively cherish. People are entertaining the conversation of what that might be. Thus, I present eight frames of storyboard relaying the following activities:  discovering a forest; discovering a chestnut tree laden with nuts within the forest; identifying chestnuts beneath the tree;.
Advertisements: Plants and trees are intimately connected with our life and well-being. It boons and benefits derived from them are too many to count. They provide shelter, food, fruits, fodder, wood, timber, medicine, oxygen; check soil- erosion, pollution and floods. They also check very effectively the spread of the desert and landslides. They are essential to maintain ecological balance and preservation of fauna. Plant More Trees ' should not remain a mere slogan but become a religion and creed with all to us. We all should plant and grow more and more trees, and protect them. Social forestry should be taken on a large scale, and trees grown all around where there is space to them. Trees add to the quality to our life and living. Without trees and forests there-* would be deserts and desolation all around us.Advertisements.
Trees are our friends.they breathe in carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen. Trees purify the air and make the environment clean and pure.       People always go for picnics to places where there are many trees., so they can enjoy the shade. Especially in summers, it is so very refreshing to sit in in the shade of trees and enjoy the cool breeze.       Trees are useful to us in other ways too. They give us Timber which we use to make our furniture and as firewood. We use timber to build our houses too and we use wood pulpto make paper.       Trees provide us with useful medicines. We get gum from trees and also fruits and vegetables. We get flowers from trees as well as spices.       We should grow trees and plants around our houses and in parks and gardens and also in the open spaces in cities and towns.     School children should be encouraged to plant trees. They can do it either in the school premises or around their houses. They government encourages social forestry. Subsidies are given to those who plant trees.       The festival of Van Mahotsav is held every year to encourage people to plant more trees. Trees check environmental pollution. Many social workers have tried and are trying to awaken the conscience of people to the need for more trees.       Do not cut down trees. Rather, plant more and more trees. If each one planted one tree, there would be so many trees today, sufficient enough for us to breath normally.                               SO GROW MORE TREES.
