During the season of the Holidays, its all about the food like the: candy, tamales, doughnuts, cookies, cake, rice, beans and gifts that we all receive. For I its all about family my great friends and the Christmas parties. Christmas time is fun to enjoy the company of my family. It all starts on the day of Christmas Eve, I wake up in the morning and I prepare myself to clean up the house. This process takes a good two hours to clean the whole house. Then when the house is clean that's when my family starts to come over. The time I share with my family is the time we talk about old stories that has happen to our lives throughout the year. My family loves to cook a whole lot of fatting foods like tamales. Tamales is like a big tradition during Christmas, it's a long process to make tamales so it's the best time for my mother and aunts to catch up on gossip. While I am waiting for the tamales to be cooked I am usually on the phone with my friend's trying to find out where all the Christmas parties are at. Around midnight is when we gather in the living room to open our gifts. Then after I clean up the mess from all the gifts. My friends start to come over to my house. Most of the time they usually come over because they just got to bored at home. I don't mind having my friend's over at my house when I am spending some time with my family. This is good because I don't have to leave my house to early to just be with my friends. After an hour or so that has pasted by at home, my phone is ringing off the.
Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas in the same way whether they are in Europe where it is cold or in Africa or South-East Asia where it is hot; the only difference is in the climate. Colorful vases of flowers and little bowls of fruit and nuts are placed on every table. In the far corner of the room is a Christmas tree, the idea of which originally came from Germany. This tree, standing in a bright red tub, is a local fir and it is decorated with silver tinsel, miniature crackers, glass balls of many different colors and little pieces of cotton wool tied on to represent the snow found in the cold countries in winter. On the top, looking down on the tree with its myriads of tiny fairy lights is a Christmas star -- shining and silvery as the star in Bethlehem shone once so long ago. Around the red tub at the bottom are many parcels tied up with bright Christmas wrapping papers and cheerful silver strings. A festoon of gaily colored balloons hang from the lights and in a far corner is a piece of mistletoe, artificially made. It's Christmas time again, the time of hopes, joys, and forgiveness. It's the time that I always have the good feeling inside me. Every year at this moment, I like to be alone by myself to think. I think about many things that consider important to me. They're including my past, my presence, and my future. I still remember the times when I was young about six or seven year old in VN. When it came to Christmas, I always felt really exciting. My family used to decorate our home with ornaments to welcome the holiday. Almost every where I went, I saw the signs of Christmas. On Christmas Eve, I went to church with my family. At this time of the year, the church always filled with people. There were many merchants came to sell souvenirs, foods, or games inside the church yard. In VN, we don't give Christmas presence like in U.S. Instead, most of the religious families would have a small but warm dinner on Christmas Eve after church. It was always a beautiful impression every time I think about it. Christmas vacation of this year is coming. There are many things I'm planning to do to prepare for this holiday. The first thing I am going to do is to buy gift for people I know. I hope my gift would bring them happiness for the vacation. The second thing I plan to do is going to church with my friends and hangout at some parties after the mass over. Finally, the last thing I want to do is to go to Florida to visit my cousins. I haven't seen them for more than five year. I hope this vacation is an enjoyable vacation to everyone. Sometimes I wonder about what my future will look like. I was always thinking how I will be next year. I hope I could get wiser as I get older. Since it Christmas, I hope that every year I could celebrate Christmas with my family and learn to become a better person. I wish that every Christmas times, I could find relaxation and joys in my mind. Christmas.
Despite how the modern message may have been diluted down the years, each Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus with traditions drawn from Christianity as well as other ones personal to our own family. Each family I know follows many of the same traditions as we do, however each put their own spin on it and make it their own. My Christmas is special because of these very traditions which we have formed as a family. The 1st of December is my favorite day in the year because it marks the beginning of my Christmas. On the 1st of December my family and I go to the shops and buy a special new tree decoration. My parents have been collecting Christmas decorations for years and nothing matches on purpose. Christmas spirit is everywhere on the 1st of December, the shops play festive music and are usually decorated down to the last detail. It is this date for me that marks the beginning of the season. We all put the tree up together the weekend after. We play Christmas music in the background, wear the Santa hats we dug out of the loft and have a drink. After the tree is up, the excessive amount of food has been brought, then the family all come down for the big day. We live all over now so the traditions have had to be adapted slightly. Christmas is the time when we all make the effort to come down at the same time. We go on the 24th of December and play family games all day. We have a buffet dinner which we call an ‘itsy bitsy’ then make our way to midnight mass at the local church. On Christmas day we wake up early, around 8 a.m. and have breakfast together. We don’t open our presents as soon as we get up as we all agree that we love the anticipation. When we do get round to opening our gifts, after dinner has been put on and the vegetables have been peeled, one of us hands each present out, one at a time. After presents we all help to get the dinner dished up and the.
