Prompt: Common Application – Topic of Choice Untitled:             As a child, I have been experiencing life since the day I emerged from my mother’s wound, yet I am not experienced. I have been exposed to those who exhibit wisdom, yet I am not wise. I have gone through life like several other children on a journey to find exactly who I am though I am already myself. That journey included life experiences which became challenges evolving into life changes. As a child, I was taught simple right from wrong lessons by my parents. I began to grow as a person and I realized that right from wrong would soon be elevated to a whole new level. At this level of right from wrong I would have to decipher on my own becoming a deciding factor in the person I would grow to be.             Throughout my journey I have travelled on a distorted path not sure which way to go. Curves and swerves have presented themselves, but I have not fully committed myself to one path. It was not until I was asked, with a more developed mind than that of a child who wants to be just like “mommy and daddy”, what I want to become in the future. I answered, “I’m not sure” because I had not asked myself. As I pondered upon the proposed question, I sorted my many options before returning to the starting point. What is my mission? Is it to please my parents who I have often found it difficult to displease? I decided that a pivotal part of finding myself was to follow my mind. I chose my own path, a path I would pave on my own. What is my mission? My mission is to become a part of a solution to this cold and flawed world.             I do not have the ability to wave a wand and restore fertility to a barren land, but I can begin my path with retrievable resources and attainable goals. Though it is my desire to help others I must fix my oxygen mask before I proceed to help someone else. Ironically, my goal.
