Unanswered [4] / Urgent [0] trung2012Threads: 1Posts: 4Author: Trung Pham   My name is Trung. This is my short essay. Help me plz !Basketball has become an indispensable part of my life. When I first picked up a real basketball at the age of 13, everything I knew about basketball was from a series of comic books: Slam dunk. I only knew the characters' moves, and mimicked their actions. Yet even with my limited knowledge of the game, I loved basketball at first sight, and have played the game everyday ever since. I love the game because, when I play with my friends, or sometimes just alone, I feel very comfortable and refreshed. Basketball also teaches me how to cooperate well with others, to follow the rules and to have discipline. Moreover, the most important thing that I gain from playing basketball is fun. There are always many funny situations in a game. I remember one time when my teammate stepped on the ball and fell hilariously, no one could continue playing and rolled on the court laughing. Lots of fun I guess!Critiques are welcomed !Trung PhamIt looks good, i think it really gets you personality and that you love the game.LocolukeThreads: -Posts: 2Author: Lucien Knechtli   Grammatically, your essay has several problems: Keep your tenses consistent, and watch out for those runons and sentence fragments.OP trung2012Threads: 1Posts: 4Author: Trung Pham   Thanks. But can you just correct those errors ?Help me plz.Anyone ?I love the game because, when I play with my friends, or sometimes just alone, I feel very comfortable and focused. This is great! The New Line Company released this movie in the year 2000. Love & Basketball received many good reviews from movie reviewers. Unlike the many reviews that commended the script of Love & Basketball from beginning to end, Mark Caro’s review and James Berardinelli’s review not only commend the movie but they also point out a few aspects of the movie that could have been better. There are two areas of the movie that Caro’s and Berardinelli’s review compare and an area both reviews contrast. Both say that the story shifts slightly towards the female perspective more than the male. Both also commend the writer/director of the movie (Gina Prince-Bythewood) for the technique she uses. They write that the technique helped balance out the time periods of the characters life, making the movie more interesting and comprehensible. However, they disagree on the characters. Mark said all the characters especially the leading characters were well chosen, while James felt one of the leading characters is not. After all, the reviewers gave Love & Basketball three out of four stars. This movie entitled Love & Basketball is a touching story about two affluent black kids-one male and one female-who grow up loving each other and the game of basketball. The movie starts off with little Monica Wright, (Kyla Pratt) a tomboy whose parents and older sister despair of getting her to act like a girl. She’d rather shoot baskets. When Monica was about twelve years old, her family moves into a new house in Baldwin Hills, Los Angelos. Watching the sport on television is just as enjoyable as playing it. Strangely, basketball has always seemed to permeate my life in one way or another. Sometimes, I feel like I was born to dream, live, and even sleep thinking about basketball. Basketball is such an amazing sport and I cannot fathom living in a world in which the sport did not exist. Nonetheless, basketball has impacted my life in such a phenomenally positive way and definitely has molded me into the individual that I am glad to be. When I was about the age of 7 years old, I began playing basketball for the city in which I resided. My parents had tried soccer, t-ball, swimming, and even hockey but I was not interested at all. Basketball captured my heart. I loved learning the defensive and offensive plays. When I played offense and actually had the ball while dribbling down the court, I became unstoppable and nobody could touch me. Adrenaline set in and nobody could stand in my way. Of course I was on cloud nine when I shot a basket and actually made it. My parents were always so supportive and cheered for my every move. They were always so proud of me. I scored many points game after game. I was often the MVP during the majority of my games during my early basketball experiences. Also, my coaches loved me because I was definitely a true team player and not a ball hogger. Game after game, I always felt so elated because I was always able to contribute to my team in a positive way no matter if we won or lost the games. However, it was always a much better feeling to win a game than to lose as a young child. As I became older, my experiences with basketball blossomed even further. I played on a.
Over the years, Basketball has evolved from a classic to a more modernized sport. For example, things changed from perimeter two-point shooting to long distance 3-point shooting; from simple layups to well maneuvered alley hoops and artistic dunking. Last but not least, apparel: It started from above the knee shorts to longer below the knee shorts. Basketball continues to drive its audience off their seats. No wonder it has already landed its name among the most famous sports ever. Basketball is so popular that almost every country in Asia, Europe and USA play the sport. Almost every individual knows how to play the sport. I have seen people playing indoors and outdoors so many times, but it is mostly played outdoors along the streets. Special sports gear, except for the ball and basket, is not even a requirement for a person to play the game. I will list some of the top reasons why basketball solidified its name almost all over the world. 1. It is attainable and not expensive. Basketball is very much affordable. All you need is a ball and a basketball court with a rim. The ball does not cost that much, unless you would want to buy expensive ones as used by the pros. You can have different options when it comes to the prices. On the other hand, finding a basketball court is not a problem either. There are lots of schools and communities who open their gates for individuals who want to play the game. When it comes to sports gear, you do not need to buy expensive shoes or clothing. Just start to play the game with the things you already use. Some people actually play the game with bare foot or slippers. However, shoes are advisable for players to use to avoid any injuries. Feet play an essential role in playing the game. 2. Readily Accessible. Like I said, basketball can be played anywhere. If you are unable to utilize the courts in both public and private schools.

Love and Basketball reflects who I am because I have drive and determination which is part of my personality, I have short temper and I get mad easily which is part of my attitude, and I value strong relationships. Within this movie, there is a lot of drive and determination portrayed between Monica and Quincy. Monica who is driven to be the first woman in the NBA, and Quincy wanting to grow-up and emulate his father- a player for the Clippers. These aspirations will propel them to make their dreams come true. Like wise in reality we all are faced with challenges whether or not you overcome these obstacles determines if you succeed in life. Like I said before I have a short temper and when things don’t go my way I react in a negative way. Monica shows this same trait. For instance, when Monica was playing basketball, she was being very aggressive and the referee gave her a technical foul, as a result she angrily walked back to the bench, shouting at the referee, “You suck!” After the game she explained that she was only showing emotion. As a result of her temper, many recruiters turned her away. Even when the people closest to her tried to give her constructed criticism she was defensive and refused to listen. But soon she would come to her senses and realize that they were just trying to help her. Strong relationships are hard to.

I love to watch and play the game, basketball is a very entertaining sport and can be played by anyone. Basketball has many negative and positive things about it based on my opinion. Basketball is known as a good pastime in many people’s eyes but can also be seen as a passion for many others. Basketball in my opinion the best thing I can do with my friends to have fun while burning a few calories. I see basketball as a fun and easy way to have fun rather than sitting on the couch all day playing video games or watching television. One reason I love basketball is because you need only yourself to play the game or, you can play with teammates. I prefer to have others to play with rather than just playing alone. To me there is not only one word that I can describe basketball. You meet tons of people and you are able to play with your friends for hours without getting one thought of boredom. One thing I love about basketball is that people have many different styles of play. There are styles such as a passer, playmaker, shooter, defensive player, and dunker or highflyer. When you play basketball you feel much more confident and makes you not care much about how others think about you. When I possess the ball in basketball I have the mentality of being the best and no one could stop me. Many people have creative ideas and find new ways to trick the opposing players. Playing Basketball is very entertaining since there are endless ideas you can think of just with a hoop and a basketball. There are many reasons why I love to play the game of Basketball but I also love to watch the game also. Basketball to me is overall the best sport out of all of the other sports such as baseball.
