purdue university mba essay

It's my pleasure to introduce Franklin Kuok (seokuok) as our latest student representative from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University! Franklin has generously volunteered to serve as our point person to field the community's questions about Purdue. Please note that this isn't a discussion thread (or forum) for application advice. It's meant for talking about life inside the Krannert program. A big thanks to Franklin! Ask your questions! _________________Sorin Istrate - Community Manager MBA Watch - Your one-stop shop for all MBA program research Hey Franklin, Purdue is one of schools i am interested in for my mba, can you talk a bit about the admissions process, and scholarships, assistantships that type of thing? Just overall provide some insight into the school and program. I work in financial operations now but would eventually like to get into supply chain management/ logistics. Thanks, Hey Franklin, I'm targeting Krannert for MBA too. I have a few questions? 1. Are Assistantships very difficult to secure, typically what fraction of the students are offered assistantships? (I've heard that there are very few assistantships available in the US, especially since the recession) 2. How expensive/cheap is it to stay at West Lafayette? 3. How good are the placement services? I'm an Operations Engineer and I'm looking to work in SCM post MBA in the US. 4. I've heard that internships has pretty much dried up, and the few internships available are usually reserved US citizens. I've heard foreign residents have little, if not no scope of securing an internship during these tough times. Is there any truth in any of this? Thanks in advance! Hey Vanilla Gorilla, Krannert like most schools has a few rounds of applications and during each round, prospective students may be selected to interview.
Under the vision and leadership of President Mitch Daniels, Purdue University has served as a leader in making exceptional education opportunities affordable for students. Among its cost reduction initiatives, Purdue has frozen undergraduate tuition for at least four years, made textbooks more affordable, reduced room and board costs and promoted financial literacy in communications to students. In an effort to make the Krannert School of Management graduate experience more accessible to prospective students, as of March 1, 2016, the school is piloting an offer of an application fee waiver.  The waiver will be available to Fall 2016 applicants of the school’s Full-Time (2-year) MBA program who are U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents of the United States holding a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) and a minimum total GMAT score of 500.
